before meeting at a random “influencer” event in berlin earlier this fall (evidence of which i have provided above for #fun and #memories), i had heard of junshen and famous for my dinner parties through various mutual friends. it was funny to then meet unexpectedly, knowing our paths would most likely have crossed anyway. i’m a big fan of his work and know that i’m just one of many looking forward to what the next issue of the magazine will bring. enjoy and happy holidays!

Real or Cake?—I am very intrigued by the real or cake trend on social media. My favorite creator is @celine_cakedesign45 . She does it to the extreme but I am also a very extreme person so I love it a lot. It’s a very fun guessing game to play with friends and I’m getting really good at it.
Choi sam—Stir fried leafy greens are very important to me. Choi sam is my absolute favourite of them all. It has big leaves and nice stems, enough amount of fibres but is still fresh and sweet. It has a nice shade of green and it even has tiny little yellow flowers sometimes. I love it with everything from garlic to oyster sauce.
Making steamed buns—I started making steamed buns recently. The goal is to adjust the recipe to make them look super smooth on the surface. It is always very exciting because I can never know how they turned out until the moment I open the lid after they’re steamed. It’s extremely healing when they come out with perfectly smooth, but of course they still loved even if they’re not.
Instant noodles with too many add-ons—I love instant noodles. It is difficult to find one that I don’t like. MSG is magic, but I do always want to extend the experience by adding EVERYTHING into my soup. Different vegetables, meat, tofus and dumplings: it is more of a malatang experience in the end than instant noodles, but why not right?
Caroline Polachek—My husband introduced me to Caroline’s music last year. It was a slow burner in the beginning and now I can’t live without her. I am so inspired by her way of expression. Her songs feel like a punch in the stomach for me and it is a good feeling. I think about her DAILY. She is my definite my pop mother.
